JEFFREY GLOS

It seems my purpose in life is to make it as difficult as possible to tell people what I do. I’ve been blessed with a knack for parlaying my hobbies into career skills: Photography, motion graphics, writing, etc.. My jack of all trades approach to my work has benefited me greatly, working on small teams, or as a freelancer, I’ve often had to fill many roles at once. But if I were to boil down my six years of working in advertising to one core skill, one fundamental craft that I have been honing this whole time, it’s strategy.

Strategic thinking fuels all of my pursuits (though it seems to rarely manifest in my personal life). The ability to think critically in professional situations, and more importantly articulate those thoughts, has given me the runway to explore incredible opportunities. From working on the YUM brands and eating way more free pizza than I’d care to say, to producing a series for Buzzfeed News debunking conspiracies, to most recently working in crypto and experimenting with educational content for streamers, I can proudly say I’ve done a lot of weird shit.

I think to be a truly great strategist (a feat I have yet to achieve), you can never be satisfied by what’s been done before, though there is definitely a fine line between exploring new exciting ways of planning and executing ideas, and being a grown-up version of the kid who asks “why” too much. There must be a purpose to your inquisitiveness, and now that I’ve painted myself into this exuberantly verbose corner, just imagine I’m ending this by saying something profound.

Oh, and while you’re here, have a look around. There’s some cool stuff to check out.

BUZZFEED NEWS

I was very lucky to be able to be a producer on the series “Trackback” for Buzzfeed News. Our goal was to have each episode dive into a popular conspiracy theory and through the (incredible) work of the journalists on our team, debunk those conspiracy theories. We were nominated for a Digital Publishing Awards “Best Social Storytelling” award for our work on the conspiracies surrounding the Notre Dame fire.
